Delayed speech and language: understand the next step
If you are concerned about how a child understands or uses words, gestures or sentences, a speech-language assessment can help clarify the next step. Children develop at different rates; a short website checklist cannot diagnose a language difficulty.
What may be discussed
- How the child understands words and everyday directions.
- How they communicate through gestures, sounds, words and sentences.
- The languages used at home and the child’s communication in daily routines.
A clinician may consider hearing and developmental history and recommend further assessment where appropriate. Families can ask for practical ways to support interaction, play and communication at home.
Plan an assessment in Jaipur
Contact Jaipur Speech Therapy to explain your concern and ask which clinician and service are available. Confirm the fee, appointment length, language support and any reports to bring before your visit. A website enquiry requests contact; it does not confirm an appointment.
Useful questions for the clinician
- What will the assessment cover, and will hearing or other checks be needed?
- What goals would be appropriate, and how will progress be reviewed?
- How can family members support communication between visits?
- What session length, frequency and fees apply to the proposed plan?
Advice and any therapy plan should follow an individual assessment. No fixed number of sessions, cure or success rate is promised here.
